The Volume "World Heritage Sites for Dialogue – Heritage for Intercultural Dialogue, through Travel"

The volume “World Heritage Sites for Dialogue” contains the Conclusions, in their wider context, of the 18th General Assembly of Experts of the Foundation, which took place in Florence on 12-13 March 2016 and saw the participation of Experts from 32 Countries in the world on 6 Continents, as well as the presence of the most important international institutions in the sphere of travel and culture, such as UNWTO, UNESCO, ICCROM, ICOMOS, ARC-WH Arab Regional Centre of World Heritage.

The book, thus, presents the ethos Life Beyond Tourism and the homonymous best practice with the Model Life Beyond Tourism and Learning Communities for the implementation of the Model on single territories, arriving in the end to propose a new commercial and educational offer for a virtuous competition on the global level. The book, published in 100,000 copies and currently in 3 languages (Italian, English, Russian) is scheduled to be republished in 7 languages for the next edition (Italian, English, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic and Chinese) and is being distributed among all the guests of the Centro Congressi al Duomo in order to raise the awareness of tourists about the theme of travel perceived as an opportunity and occasion of dialogue among cultures and exchange of knowledge for peaceful coexistence among people.

The questionnaire “World Heritage Sites for Dialogue” was born with an aim of deepening the research Life Beyond Tourism that was promoted by the Centro Congressi al Duomo CCAD-Firenze and carried out for over twenty years by the Fondazione Romualdo Del Bianco.
